How much physical activity do you need each week?

Each of us should aim to participate in an appropriate level of physical activity for our age. These guidelines apply across the population, irrespective of gender, race or socio-economic status.

The age groups covered in this report are:

• early years (under 5s)
• children and young people (5–18 years)
• adults (19–64 years)
• older adults (65+ years)
